Support

Where to get support?

If you ever have any problems with the plugin then dont worry because there are plenty of ways to get help. We recommend you check the different support sections in this order:

  1. The Manual
  2. FAQ section
  3. The Guides
  4. The Forum
  5. Our IRC channel

How do I report a problem?

After you have checked all support sections and have not found a soloution to your problem, then you should report it to us. Remember to search the forums first tho! A developer may already be working on it, and it would help him if all the reports for that problem are in the same place. If you cant find any help with your problem, then you should create a new support topic at the forums. The first thing your going to need to do is grab the logs.

My Anime records its own log and is kept with the other MediaPortal logs. These logs only contain information from the last MediaPortal session. It is a great help to the people reading these logs if you restart mediaportal and only do what is needed for the problem to occur, then quit MediaPortal.

To get the logs, go to Start menu->Team mediaportal->mediaportal->User files->log. If your giving these logs to someone else to help debug a problem, like the developers, then grab the "mediaportal.txt", "error.txt", and "MyAnime2.txt" files and put them into a zip file. If this is a new problem, start a new support tread at our forum, and attach the logs to the post.

Manual

For general support on setting up and using My Anime, take alook at the manual. Most problems are solved by checking it out.

FAQ

The FAQs here on the site are a good place to start looking for answers to problems not in the manual. Most of the common problem can be answered there.

Guides

The next place to check is the Guides section. These help with more difficult problems, or are just more detailed then the FAQ's.

Forums

If you cant find the solution on the wiki then the next step would be our forum. If its a common problem then chances are somebody has asked it and the answer is sitting there waiting for you. If you cant find the answer then the forum is also the perfect place to ask. It also makes a great place to find and talk with other My Anime users.

IRC

If after all that you still need help, then join us on IRC. The developers are usually on and are happy to help, if you've already looked at the other places for help first that is :).

Feature requests

My Anime is a growing product. We are always improving it. If you have an idea that you think will benifit My Anime, then post it to our New Ideas section on our forums.
