The Otaku Media Manager Group is a group of people giving their free time and skills to create programs for fans of many types of japanese media. The group currently has two projects; My Anime 2, and Japanese Media Manager. My Anime 2 is a pluging for the HTPC software MediaPortal. Japanese Media Manager is a multiclient media manager to be used by many devices, like your computer, your HTPC( and therfore your TV), a web interface, your smart phones, etc. The group is made up of fans of Japanese media and are passionate about the project.
| Name | Role | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Lwerndly | Project Lead / Programmer | |
| MPIva | Programmer | |
| Craige1 | Programmer / Website admin | I have been in the group for nearly 2 years now. My interest in anime has been around for longer then I can remember, but I have been collecting it for roughly 5 years. |
My Anime is a great mix between presentation, functionally and usability for watching and organising your anime. By combining the interface and multimedia capabilities of MediaPortal with the information and management abilities of AniDB, you’ll get a great anime experience.
My Anime allows you to list all your anime, no matter whether they are movies, TV shows, or ova, if there on your computer, on the network, or on DVD’s. It allows you to see detailed information about each anime you have, including description, genres, air dates, community ratings, personal ratings, etc. Fanart, DVD Covers, posters, and banners are automatically downloaded giving you a pleasing look to your anime collection. Not only are the anime listed, but each episode is listed as well. Information for each episode is available, preview pictures are downloaded, airing dates are shown, episode descriptions are retrieved, etc.

Nearly every item you see on the interface, like, anime, seasons, episodes, fanart, DVD\VHS covers, banners, characters, upcoming anime, etc.. has a context menu you can bring up with a wealth of options. There are just way to many to list here, but you will find out if you use My Anime
.
Larger feature list here.
My Anime has 3 layouts you can choose from to display the main list of anime. These allow you to see more of ether, the list, the fanart or just might look better to you. In the following 3 images, it's the same list of anime being listed, in the same window, just the layout is changed. Even tho they look radically different, they all do the same things.
A range of skins are available for My Anime. Your bound to find something you like. These skins can dramtically change not only the looks but also the layout of the different parts of My Anime. Because each skin gets 3 layouts, you get a good amount of options on how you want it to look.

For more screenshots for each skin follow these links, in order of the above image.

My Anime has an assortment of different windows to show you all the information you would need about an anime and your collection.
The anime info window shows you detailed information about an anime. The info is fetched from the excellent AniDB database. The window also has a second page showing statistics about your local copy of the anime, like how many times watched and for how long.

Anime Info Groups page
This window shows you your anime on a calendar. It lists anime by the months they were first aired. It also shows you anime coming up in the next couple months. By clicking on an anime you are taken to its info window, allowing you to see all the details about the anime known so far. By doing this it allows you to easily find new anime to watch and collect.
The relations window shows all the anime related to another anime. This includes direct sequels and prequels as well as anime that are set in the same universe or have the same characters. This is great for finding all the related anime in an anime universe.
This lists all the characters in the anime as well as the voice talent behind the character. Pictures of both the character and the voice actor are shown when available. For each voice actor, the list of characters they have done is shown as well as the anime those characters are in. Pictures of these other characters and animes are also shown.
Different types of images are downloaded with each anime. These not only look nice, like the fanart, but also help display the anime graphically, like the banners and posters. The posters most of the time are the DVD or VHS covers, so with these you get the feeling like your going through you dvd collection when you browse through the lists. Each set of images are manageable per anime. Here are the windows that let you manage them.
My Anime has a wealth of options available to customize the way you see your anime. The most common option are available in both the GUI and the configuration dialog.

If you ever have any problems with the plugin then dont worry because there are plenty of ways to get help. We recommend you check the different support sections in this order:
After you have checked all support sections and have not found a soloution to your problem, then you should report it to us. Remember to search the forums first tho! A developer may already be working on it, and it would help him if all the reports for that problem are in the same place. If you cant find any help with your problem, then you should create a new support topic at the forums. The first thing your going to need to do is grab the logs.
My Anime records its own log and is kept with the other MediaPortal logs. These logs only contain information from the last MediaPortal session. It is a great help to the people reading these logs if you restart mediaportal and only do what is needed for the problem to occur, then quit MediaPortal.
To get the logs, go to Start menu->Team mediaportal->mediaportal->User files->log. If your giving these logs to someone else to help debug a problem, like the developers, then grab the "mediaportal.txt", "error.txt", and "MyAnime2.txt" files and put them into a zip file. If this is a new problem, start a new support tread at our forum, and attach the logs to the post.
For general support on setting up and using My Anime, take alook at the manual. Most problems are solved by checking it out.
The FAQs here on the site are a good place to start looking for answers to problems not in the manual. Most of the common problem can be answered there.
The next place to check is the Guides section. These help with more difficult problems, or are just more detailed then the FAQ's.
If you cant find the solution on the wiki then the next step would be our forum. If its a common problem then chances are somebody has asked it and the answer is sitting there waiting for you. If you cant find the answer then the forum is also the perfect place to ask. It also makes a great place to find and talk with other My Anime users.
If after all that you still need help, then join us on IRC. The developers are usually on and are happy to help, if you've already looked at the other places for help first that is :).

My Anime is a growing product. We are always improving it. If you have an idea that you think will benifit My Anime, then post it to our New Ideas section on our forums.
If you are a skinner or a developer and need help handling My Anime then the Skinners and Developers section of the forum is the place for you.
