My Anime 2.4 Released!

After 7 months (the longest period between versions by far), we have release My Anime 2.4! This one has got to be one of the biggest so far. WARNING: you will need atleast MediaPortal 1.1 RC 3 or newer to use this version.

So whats new?

There were a ton of changes in this release. It always seems that each new version brings more and more.

The biggest ones are:

  • My Anime now works with the latest MediaPortal releases(1.1 RC 3+), without installing any fixes.
  • Now uses the newer MovieDB API. Results are now more relevant.
  • Many fixes related to associating anime to movies and tv series on the online databases.
  • Downloading system now works with the newer uTorrent versions.
  • When assigning an unrecognized file to an episode, a suggestion is now shown. Makes assigning them to episodes much quicker.
  • Years, audio and subtitle view filters now work.
  • Getting anime info can be quicker thanks to a priority system for the message queue.
  • Assigning an association to an anime group, will also assign the association to anime without one already.
  • R18 content is filtered correctly.
  • Quickly mark episodes you have seen up to within a series as watched with a new menu option.
  • New collection window. Shows you detailed statistics about your anime collection.
  • Quickly find and download missing episodes within your collection with the new "missing episodes" list.
  • Quickly find and download missing related anime to anime you have, with the new "missing relations" list.
  • Option to automatically group related anime.
  • New admin utility to remove associations from anime were the association no longer exists on the online DB.

One of the biggest, and most important changes in this release is the rewritten database backend. You will not notice this as a user but it does give us many more possibilities for new and exciting features in the coming versions of My Anime. Look forward to these Smile.
